Monogram Monday

I think by now everyone probably understands and knows my obsession with Etsy. One of the many reasons that I love Etsy is because of the idea of supporting small businesses. According to a Forbes article, 99.7 percent of all U.S. firms are small businesses. Since that is obviously such a huge number I think that it is really important to support local boutiques, small online stores, and other small companies throughout the U.S. Now that I've given you all my economics lecture we can get back to my original point: Pretty Smitten. Pretty Smitten is an Etsy store, based out of California, that sells some really cute monogrammed items. I am especially obsessed with their lucite trays. Lucite is becoming a huge trend, not only in desktop accessories but also in jewelry. I love the idea of using these trays as a coffee table accessory or using them as actual trays while throwing a soiree. I hope you all had a great Monday and continue to have a great week!!

Weekend Picks

Hi y'all! Happy Sunday! I've been dreading Sundays lately because to me they only mean one thing: the end of the weekend, but these weekend picks are helping to brighten my day and I hope they can brighten yours too!

1. I came across these pencils on Design Darling. I love cute and bright accesories to have on hand while at my desk and these pencils definitely fit the bill! The bright colors of the pencils and the sayings on them definitely make me want to do some work!

2. Since starting the blog I've found that I need more places to store my pictures, ideas, etc. Lilly Pulitzer has some really cute USB sticks that can also double as keychains! I love this idea of having a cute USB that is easily portable and you can attach to your keys or laptop case so you'll never lose it.

3. Guilty pleasure #1: I absolutely love men in bow-ties. I think that bow-ties are so classic and sharp, and I can't get enough of them (especially if they're in a fun nautical pattern and happen to be around the neck of some southern college boy). Now that I've gotten that off my chest I feel like I can move forward and talk about these adorable bow-tie bracelets. The Vickers bow bracelet, by Kiel James Patrick, allows us girls to wear bow-ties but in a different way that still adds whismy and spice to an outfit.

4. Sandals are the gateway to summer for me. Whenever it's warm enough to wear sandals out I know that sunny days, tan legs, and swimsuits are sure to follow. I've been craving summer lately, and even more in the past couple days since the Midwest got hit with all this snow. I was on pinterest the other day and saw these gorgeous Joie sandals. I love the use of the lizard embossed leather and the mint color combination. These sandals leave me dreaming about the warm months that are ahead!

Have a great week everyone!

Monogram Monday

Happy President's Day y'all! For today's Monogram Monday I decided to show off May Designs beautiful books and notes. May Designs offers you the choice to customize every little piece of your planner or notecard. I bought a MayBook as a gift for my mom for Christmas and it seems to be holding up really well. The cool thing about these planners is that they are hand sewn together and they are eco-friendly. They say that their canvas covers are water resistant, durable, and resilient! Out of all the pros to these planners and notecards, the best part for me is that I can slap my monogram on it! Head over to their website and customize your own today!!

Weekend Picks

1) I can't say enough good things about these hair ties! I own a couple already but I would really love to buy some more! At Mane Message they have SO many different colors and packages to choose from (I love their spring 2013 package). I did a little math and figured that they were only $1.40 per hair tie which isn't bad compared to what I've seen before!
2) So while searching around on Etsy I came across Paper Krush. They have some super cute stationary and invitations! While I don't have any use for invitations at the moment I will definitely refer back to them for when I am in need.
3)I used to wear bows all the time in my hair when I was little, but there is something about a little bow in your hair that I still find to be so appealing. Even though I am no longer four years old, I still feel like it is acceptable to wear bows. I feel like a bow can dress up your look in a subtle way but still adds a very feminine touch.
4) While my birthday is still a couple months away, I've managed to have already started a list! New sunglasses are definitely on my list but I don't want to pay two or three hundred dollars for them! Warby Parker sells really chic sunglasses and regular prescription glasses, all for $95! I've heard great things about their sunglasses and I'm really excited to try them out for myself. PLUS they have a virtual try on feature on their website which so you can test out the glasses before purchasing!
Have a great weekend!!

Monogram Monday

Happy Monday everyone!! For this Monogram Monday I decided to feature Gigi New Yorks clutches. I absolutely love these clutches especially because you can monogram them! Online you have the choice to add your initials to these beautiful clutches. Obviously I adore anything that gives you the option to monogram it so these clutches are right up my alley. Plus I think the embossed python gives a subtle edge to these perfect clutches.

Weekend Picks

1) I've been dying over the new J.Crew necklaces but can't seem to get over the prices. So while I was perusing Instagram, I came across GlamourMeJewels. They have so many chic and fun necklaces and bracelets, I can't wait to get my hands on some of these fun jewels!
2) As a Midwest gal we don't have too many dry bars around. As I was driving today I came across this new dry bar! I was so excited, I almost recked the car staring at it! I'm planning on making an appointment and heading on in there real soon so I can finally experience all the hype.
3) Recently I've been obsessed with stationary and calligraphy. The other day I came across Ashley Brooke Designs and her cards and prints are absolutely beautiful. Y'all MUST check them out.
4) Since I had a very busy week I thought I'd lay low this weekend and curl up with a good magazine. I picked up downloaded the new InStyle and I'm planning on reading all about the gals in the new Oz: The Great and Powerful movie that comes out in March!
I hope you all continue to have a great weekend and an even better week ahead!
