Weekend Picks

Hi y'all!! I feel like I've been MIA lately, I have been so busy recently and just have not had time to fit in time for creating posts, writing posts, etc. Anyways I'm back and couldn't be happier about it! I am also incredibly happy to say that it is officially spring (according to the calendar at least)! Spring and summer are my favorite times of the year and this weekends picks are somewhat spring inspired.
1) Pretty pretty paper: I already love Sugar Paper's stationary and notepads but I came across their wrapping paper the other day and I love it. I've been looking for wrapping paper that is simple but still fun and this reversible pink paper definitely fits the bill.
2)Peter Cottontail: With Easter approaching I thought I would feature these super cute calligraphed eggs. I love DIY projects especially holiday-themed ones so these eggs are right up my alley. These seem really easy to make, all you need is some tattoo paper, scissors, eggs and water!
3) Making banana pancakes: Whenever I think of banana pancakes all I can think about is Jack Johnson's song and that was just what I was humming while I made this banana bread pancake recipe the other night (yes I had pancakes for dinner). They were really good and super easy to make, plus I had all the ingredients in my pantry which made it that much better since I didn't have to go to store.
4)Magnolia trees and sweet iced tea: I looove these prints by One Canoe Two. Almost all of the U.S. states have prints and they are all so beautiful. These would be perfect house-warming gifts, graduation gifts, or birthday gifts and at $16 a pop you can't beat the price.
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the rest of March!

Monogram Monday

I think by now everyone probably understands and knows my obsession with Etsy. One of the many reasons that I love Etsy is because of the idea of supporting small businesses. According to a Forbes article, 99.7 percent of all U.S. firms are small businesses. Since that is obviously such a huge number I think that it is really important to support local boutiques, small online stores, and other small companies throughout the U.S. Now that I've given you all my economics lecture we can get back to my original point: Pretty Smitten. Pretty Smitten is an Etsy store, based out of California, that sells some really cute monogrammed items. I am especially obsessed with their lucite trays. Lucite is becoming a huge trend, not only in desktop accessories but also in jewelry. I love the idea of using these trays as a coffee table accessory or using them as actual trays while throwing a soiree. I hope you all had a great Monday and continue to have a great week!!
